Abstract:

This study analyzes tourism in Neamț County, with the aim of identifying the factors that limit its development and proposing strategic directions for revitalizing the sector. The research is based on statistical analysis of tourism indicators for the period 2005–2024, using official data provided by the National Institute of Statistics. The comparative method was applied to analyze the dynamics of tourist flows, accommodation capacity, and existing tourism infrastructure. Field observations complemented the quantitative analysis, contributing to a better understanding of local realities. The results highlight a clear contrast between the county's high tourism potential and the low level of exploitation, determined by infrastructure deficiencies, insufficient promotion strategies, and the pronounced seasonal nature of tourism activity. In this context, measures such as infrastructure modernization, the development of integrated tourism marketing strategies, and the diversification of the offer to stimulate tourism throughout the year are proposed.
