The interval 1st September 2006 – 31st August 2007 has been
characterized by weather states which brought serious prejudices to the agricultural sector all
over the country and especially at the exterior of the Carpathian arc. Also, in the northern half
of the Plateau of Moldavia, because of the high temperatures and critical precipitations, both
the plants cultivation and the zootechny registered results much below the normal ones.
Spatially, the east and the south-east of the northern half of the Plateau of Moldavia have been
the most affected by drought, this phenomenon scroching thousands of hectares of agricultural
soil.
