Abstract:

Korhogo, a town in northern Côte d'Ivoire, records cases of Acute respiratory Infection (ARI) because of the climatic seasons and environmental conditions. The study aims to demonstrate the influence of climatic factors and the living environment in the development of ARI in Korhogo. The methodological approach adopted integrates the collection, analysis and interpretation of epidemiological, climatic, and socioeconomic data. The analysis and processing of the information collected in the field was done using computer software. Acording to the results, the city of Korhogo recorded 9346 cases of ARI from 2021 to 2024. Low ARI dominate with for 86.89% of cases. The dry season is more favorable to the proliferation of these infections with 67.01% of cases compared to 32.99% in the rainy season. 65.16% of households surveyed live in two-room dwellings and 54.84% of households house 3 to 6 people. Promiscuity, air pollution caused by smoke, aerosol and foul odors, also influence the distribution of ARI in the town.
